Sheila H. Meer. Sheila Meer was born in Denver, Colorado. She
received her B.A. at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she
graduated with distinction, Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her law degree
(J.D.) from the University of California School of Law, Berkeley (Boalt
Hall), in 1970. She practiced first with the Legal Aid Society of
Metropolitan Denver, then as a Colorado First Assistant Attorney General
and Deputy Director of the Colorado Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Office. In
1979, she entered the private practice of law. Her practice focuses on
professional, occupational, and business licensure and disciplinary
defense, civil litigation, and employment litigation. She has been the
author of the Colorado Bar Association’s Annual Survey of Administrative
Law since 1985 and has taught and written about administrative law
subjects for over twenty years. She is retained as a consulting lawyer
and/or an expert witness several times a year in
administrative/regulatory litigation cases. She enjoys Martindale
Hubbell’s highest “AV” rating.
Diana R. Maurer Schatz. Diana Schatz was born in Hartford,
Connecticut. She received her A.B. at Oberlin College and earned her law
degree (J.D.) from Boston University School of Law in 1983. She served
for over ten years as an Assistant Attorney General and consumer
advocate in the Colorado Attorney General’s Office before joining Sheila
Meer in private practice in 2002. “Of counsel” to the firm, she also
practices individually as Diana R. Maurer Schatz, P.C. Her practice
focuses on professional, occupational, and business licensure and
disciplinary defense, civil litigation, and employment litigation.
